Think Like A Child

A while back, I was reading articles about creativity and children. It was job related and I'm naturally interested in  "creativity."

There were, of course, amazing lessons for adults. Brain science is brain science. Yes, I'm sure brains change, but think of going back and triggering the child brain in everyone. It's still there, the core feelings and reactions, just lost among all the new connections we think are "adult."

I tried some stuff, at work. In a way. And yes, it worked and helped the environment.

Today I read this article about why kids leave sports. So, ok, it says quit sports. I don't think the kids see it that way, they leave.  After reading so much about leadership and workplace, again the parallels were instant and obvious. Substitute "employee" for "kids" and "bosses" for "adults" or "coaches."

It really is that simple. We will always want what we wanted as kids. What works with kids, works with adults. Not because adults are childish or babies or those negative connotation things. Because our brains are our brains. They work the same. The flourish in the right circumstances and wither in others.

Embrace your child. It will lead you to the right places.
