When is drinking a half cup of milk the best treat ever?

When it's root beer milk from this company. Or most any of their flavors.

And love their bottles. On the back it says: People ask us what cows are saying when they moo. Well, maybe it's "Hi." Or perhaps, "What's going on?" And it might even be,"Have you seen my red high tops?" In other words, we have no clue what they are saying.

Growing Stuff

Another goal was to actually grow some veggies. Not much. Just some fun stuff. To see what happens. Seedlings are up. Will tell you what they are later.

Also have the usual mint.

Ireland at Home

Found this, the Lipton  of Ireland, and paid more than I would pay for everyday tea. I had to do it.

Compost

was one of those things we wanted to do last year but I was too crazy with work stuff to do anything at home in the spring or summer. And this year, I planned to do stuff at home. The kid and I were shopping when we thought it would be an early spring and found a clearance home backyard size compost bin. And it has been collecting stuff since April. On top is some plastic from a favorite restaurant that long ago said their stuff was compostable. We'll see.

This is our nice little kitchen pail for collecting kitchen waste.

I enjoy yard stuff.  It's all an experiment for me. Just like to see what happens. And it's a break from the technology and real world stress. Nature has it's own rhythm and humans can't control it. I like that.

Making a Commitment to My Real World

through my internet world.

Because I need to stay real world this summer.  I was reminded of that more than ever yesterday at work. The beginning of summer busy and crazy people and the AC not working around 3:00 pm so hot and sweaty.

And I can't go through what I did last summer.

And I have started and will catch up with all that i have done off and on these next couple of days.

A commitment to write it down will be helpful. To myself.

And I will start later because going to go see the Star Trek movie.  The kid saw it on the first day and loved it. Much more than the guy in the red suit movie. Star Trek is a family thing.

The kid and I saw the Gatsby movie Friday, my other day off. We enjoyed it immensely. We wanted to see what the director would do with 3D.  The kid isn't a fan of 3D and I sometimes find it make me a little seasick , but this was a must for this movie. As it was for me the the Pi movie.  The directors shot it in 3D and used it.  Many shots of the  Gatsby movie were done with 3D as a frame, and many used it to great advantage. It was worth it. It may not be for everyone. It was what we wanted it to be. And he loves Gatsby - the book and the character.

That Place

Interesting.

I think it's quite possible that part of my recovery, or part of my set of beliefs now, is something similar to this. If not this.

Having a place where no one can touch. No one can destroy. No one can unsettle. There is a core of me, a set of beliefs, maybe to tie it to the word of this year, I need to be able to get back to in order to stay strong. To see me. To not let the doubts touch or influence.

Maybe it's the place that lets me say No.

This Whole Mustache Thing

I don't get it.

But Hello Kitty does, so I guess it's OK.
The candy mustaches smell like cake and kinda taste that way, too.

Haven't forgotten about the "find more joy"
